Seattle RainWise Landscaping: Eco-Friendly Rain Gardens and Cisterns

RainWise Installations - Rain Gardens and Cisterns

We’re proud to be certified RainWise professionals, able to help you manage the stormwater on your property and get approved for a government rebate for doing nature a solid. Seattle and King County’s RainWise program was designed to help clean up the Puget Sound, by diverting stormwater runoff into Green Infrastructure Systems and protect the Salish Sea from the release of Combined Sewer Overflows during peak rain events. We’ll assess your property for viability of either a rain cistern, rain garden, or combined system during a free consultation, and then develop your plans and get it installed through our custom design/build process. We can help anyone get a cistern or rain garden installed if it’s a viable option for their property, but only certain parts of the city and county are eligible for government rebates, so be sure to check your eligibility at https://700milliongallons.org/rainwise/eligibility/.

Cisterns are not only a great way to slow down storm water, but an excellent way to store our abundant rain for use in your garden over the summer. RainWise cisterns are allowed to drain using a slow-flow valve during the wet season, and then allowed to fill up in the spring so you’ve got fresh water to use in the dry season.

Rain Gardens help slow and sink rainwater into the ground, which keeps it from overflowing our city’s sewer systems, but also creates potential for beautiful plantings — attractive to you & to wildlife! Check below for more resources on rain gardens, cisterns, and the RainWise program.
